Street grid
Residential streets run in a steady pattern of parallel lines and even blocks. The regularity turns the town into a pattern piece, especially in the Blueprint and Paper styles.

Dumas Map Poster & Print
Dumas is the seat of Moore County, on the flat High Plains north of Amarillo. Seen from above it is almost entirely right angles: a regular grid of residential streets, long straight avenues and blocks of even size, laid down on land with barely a rise to interrupt them. The US highways that pass through town form its strongest lines, meeting near the centre and carrying on toward the open horizon.
The town is widely known through the 1920s song "I'm a Ding Dong Daddy from Dumas", which carried its name far beyond the Panhandle. On the map, though, the character comes from scale: the compact grid ends abruptly where fields begin, and past that edge only a few section-line roads continue straight out across the farmland.
A Dumas map poster suits that kind of geometry. With no river or coastline to organise the frame, the design leans on rhythm, the repeated blocks and the few diagonal or curving roads that break it. Printed in black and white it looks close to an architectural drawing, which suits a town laid out on a survey grid.

Highway crossing
The US highways passing through Dumas are the heaviest lines on the map, cutting through the grid and leading south toward Amarillo and north across the Panhandle.
Edge of the plains
Where the town stops, the map goes almost empty. A handful of straight rural roads continue outward on the section-line grid, a reminder of how open the surrounding plains are.

Zakaj Dumas
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People from small Panhandle towns tend to describe home by its roads and its sky. A map of Dumas captures the first of those in a clean, orderly way, and makes a quiet gift for someone who moved to a city but still gives directions by the old street names.
Add your own title and subtitle, or put a graduation year or family name on the coordinates line. The design comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download HD files in six sizes up to 24×36″ for $9, or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
