Elmhurst Map Poster & Print
Elmhurst lies in DuPage County west of Chicago. From above it is a nearly perfect Midwestern grid. Long straight streets are lined with houses, parks are spaced through the neighbourhoods, and the Union Pacific West Metra line cuts diagonally across. Salt Creek winds along the western side, and interstates frame the edges.
The city grew as a commuter suburb, and its downtown around the station and York Street remains the centre of daily life. Elmhurst University occupies a leafy campus near the middle of town. The Elmhurst Art Museum includes the McCormick House, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
An Elmhurst map poster shows the calm order of an American railroad suburb. The grid is broken only by the rail line, a creek and a few curving park drives. In black and white, the even streets produce a clean, graphic pattern that suits a modern interior.

Salt Creek
The creek meanders along the western side of the city, with parkland and forest preserve beside it. It adds a natural curve to the map.
Elmhurst University
The college campus forms an open, green block near the centre of town. Its paths and quads contrast with the surrounding residential streets.
