Belmont Park
The racetrack's large oval is the most recognisable shape on the map. It creates a strong open form among the residential blocks.

Elmont Map Poster & Print
Elmont sits on the western edge of Nassau County, right at the border with Queens. From above, it is a dense and regular suburb: rows of residential streets laid out in blocks, crossed by larger roads such as Hempstead Turnpike and bordered by major parkways.
The area is best known for Belmont Park, the long-established horse racing track and home of the Belmont Stakes. Its oval and grounds stand out sharply in the street pattern. Next to it is UBS Arena, the home of the New York Islanders hockey team, which adds another large footprint.
An Elmont map poster shows how tightly suburban Long Island is packed next to the city. The fine grid of houses, the curve of the racetrack and the lines of the parkways combine to form a balanced composition. It suits people who grew up there, racing fans and Islanders supporters.

Suburban grid
Evenly spaced streets of single-family homes fill most of the area. They give the poster a dense, even texture typical of inner Long Island.
Parkways and turnpike
Hempstead Turnpike and nearby parkways cut through and around the neighbourhood. Their wide lines separate the residential blocks from the racetrack grounds.
