Curved harbour bay
The town wraps around a sheltered bend of the Black Sea coast, so the shoreline forms a clean arc that anchors the whole composition.

Ereğli Map Poster & Print
Ereğli lies on the western Black Sea coast of Turkey, in Zonguldak Province, where the shoreline bends into a sheltered bay. From above, the town wraps around that curve. Its centre is close to the harbour, and neighbourhoods climb the wooded slopes that press down toward the water. Streets follow the contours rather than a grid, so the map has a loose, fan-like shape.
The town is ancient. As Heraclea Pontica it was a Greek colony, and the caves at its edge have long been linked with the myth of Heracles descending to the underworld to fetch Cerberus. The modern town is known for something heavier: the large Erdemir steelworks, whose quays, yards and long industrial blocks take up a broad stretch of the coast.
An Ereğli map poster sets these two sides next to each other. The old harbour and the dense streets of the centre sit on one side of the bay, and the long geometric footprint of the steel plant on the other. Rivers and ravines come down from the hills, and the coastal road traces the edge of the sea in both directions.

Steelworks waterfront
The Erdemir plant spreads along the coast in long rectangular blocks, yards and quays, a sharp industrial contrast to the curving streets of the old town.
Hillside streets
Behind the centre, roads climb the wooded slopes in winding lines that follow the terrain, giving the map a loose, organic texture away from the sea.
