Ettadhamen Map Poster & Print
Ettadhamen is a densely built district on the north-western edge of Greater Tunis, in Ariana Governorate. Its name means 'solidarity' in Arabic. From above, it is one of the most compact urban areas in the Tunis region, a close mesh of narrow streets and small blocks with very little open space, bordered by main roads and the remaining farmland at the edge of the city.
The area grew quickly from the 1970s onward, largely through self-built housing, as people moved to the capital from the interior of Tunisia. Houses were added plot by plot, and the resulting street plan is irregular but closely knit, with small squares and markets appearing where main streets meet. Arterial roads connect it with central Tunis, Ariana and the western suburbs.
An Ettadhamen map poster shows a district whose character lies in its density. In monochrome, the fine grain of streets becomes almost a texture, framed by wider roads and the open land beyond. It is a map for people who grew up here or have family ties to the district, and a record of a place largely built by its own residents.

Arterial roads
A few wider roads cut through and around the district, framing the dense core and linking it with central Tunis and neighbouring municipalities.
Urban edge
On its outer side the built-up area meets open fields and undeveloped land, a sharp boundary that shows how recently the city reached this point.
