Planned blocks
The newer parts of town use large rectangular blocks and wide roads. They form a clean, geometric zone in the middle of the composition.

Fenggao Map Poster & Print
Fenggao lies in the west of Chongqing municipality, in the gently hilly country of the eastern Sichuan Basin, far from the river gorges of central Chongqing. The land here is a continuous run of low rises, small valleys and terraced fields. The town's streets have adapted to this ground instead of flattening it.
From above, newer districts appear as broad, regular blocks laid out where the land allowed. Older lanes bend more freely around the hills. Small reservoirs and ponds, typical of this farming region, show up as scattered irregular shapes. Roads out of town follow the valleys, so the network forks and curves rather than running straight.
A Fenggao map poster suits this quietly complex ground. In black and white, the contrast between planned blocks and the organic mesh of rural roads and water bodies gives the sheet depth. The composition shows a southwestern Chinese town growing outward over a landscape it has farmed for a very long time.

Ponds and reservoirs
Small bodies of water sit among the fields and hills around town. Their irregular outlines add soft, rounded shapes to the surrounding line work.
Valley roads
Roads leading out of Fenggao follow the dips between hills, curving and branching. They give the edges of the poster a natural, meandering texture.
