Clear Creek
The creek bends and doubles back along the town's boundary. Its wooded corridor forms the most organic line on the map, set against the planned residential streets.

Friendswood Map Poster & Print
Friendswood sits on the low, level prairie between Houston and Galveston Bay. From above, it looks like a web of looping residential streets, quiet cul-de-sacs and short collector roads rather than a grid. The main thread through it is Clear Creek, which winds along the town's edge in slow meanders. Its green, tree-lined banks break up the pattern of houses.
The town began in 1895 as a Quaker settlement, which is where the name comes from. It grew into a residential community spread across parts of two counties. It is close to NASA's Johnson Space Center, and for decades many people working in the space program chose to live here. The town's feel is domestic and settled, and the map shows the same thing.
A Friendswood map poster keeps what the plan actually looks like: curving streets, the dark line of the creek, scattered parks and the straighter arterial roads that tie the neighbourhoods together. There are no hills or coastlines, so the drawing is all about how the streets are laid out. The drawing looks calm and even, and it works well at larger print sizes.

Looping subdivisions
Residential areas are made of curving streets and cul-de-sacs, which draws the map as clusters of rounded cells instead of a regular grid.
Arterial framework
A few longer, straighter roads cut through the neighbourhoods and connect them to the wider Houston area. They give the drawing its underlying structure.

Zakaj Friendswood
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For families who have lived here, the map is a record of home: the street where the children grew up, the route to school, the creek at the end of the block. Former residents who moved away for work often want a quiet reminder of the town.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a move-in date. Then choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room it will hang in.
