Valley-following roads
The main roads run with the grain of the land, bending along lower ground instead of cutting straight across it. This gives the map a fluid set of lines.

Gangjia Map Poster & Print
Gangjia lies north-east of Chongqing's central districts, in country where long parallel ridges cross the eastern edge of the Sichuan Basin. Towns here rarely grow in neat squares. Their streets settle on the flatter ground between hills, so the built-up area takes an elongated, irregular outline that follows the shape of the terrain.
On a map this gives a compact core of denser streets, with roads branching outward along the valleys toward surrounding villages. Farmland covers much of the wider landscape. At town scale, though, the poster focuses on the settlement itself: its main roads, the lanes packed between them, and the way its edges thin out into open ground.
A Gangjia map poster is a quiet, personal choice. It will not hang on many walls, and that is part of its appeal for people with a real tie to the town, whether a birthplace, a family home or a place linked to one particular year. The fine-line drawing keeps the terrain-shaped layout readable without any decoration.

Compact town core
The densest cluster of streets sits where the ground is flattest. It forms a small dark knot on the print that stands out clearly against the lighter surroundings.
Ridge country setting
Gangjia belongs to the ridge-and-valley landscape of the eastern Sichuan Basin, so slopes shape the town's outline as much as any plan does.
