Gaojia Map Poster & Print
Gaojia is a town in the Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country of the Sichuan Basin's eastern edge. The terrain here is steep and broken, and settlements tend to follow valley floors and gentler slopes. On the map this produces streets that curve and branch rather than run straight, with built-up areas stretched along the lie of the land.
Like many towns in rural Chongqing, it combines an older, denser centre with newer development along the main roads. The surrounding countryside is shaped by terraced fields and scattered hamlets, and the network of minor roads linking them draws fine, wandering lines across the landscape.
A Gaojia map poster reads almost like a topographic sketch. The flowing street pattern, the way development hugs the valleys, and the open hillsides between clusters of buildings give the composition an organic, uneven rhythm. It is a personal map, most meaningful to people who know the town and its surroundings firsthand.

Denser town centre
The core of Gaojia gathers the tightest cluster of streets and buildings, contrasting with the looser development along the roads leading out.
Hillside road network
Narrow country roads climb and wind through the surrounding hills, creating a web of fine lines that fills the edges of the poster.
