Gentilly Map Poster & Print
Gentilly borders the southern edge of Paris, just beyond the 13th and 14th arrondissements, in the Val-de-Marne department. On a map, the Boulevard Périphérique and its ramps form a sharp edge along the north side of the town. Beyond it lie the Paris street grid and the green space of the Cité Internationale Universitaire. South of the boundary, Gentilly's own streets climb the slopes of a small valley.
That valley was carved by the Bièvre, a river that once ran through Gentilly into Paris and has since been covered over. Its route still shapes the terrain and some street alignments. The town's layout mixes older lanes with larger blocks of twentieth-century housing, rail lines and service areas. It has the typical density and variety of the first ring of suburbs around the capital.
A Gentilly map poster shows the meeting of city and suburb in one frame: the fine Paris grid, the thick band of the ring road, and the tight neighbourhoods beyond. It is a satisfying composition for people who live in the town and know how closely it sits to the capital, while keeping its own character.

Bièvre valley
The buried river Bièvre once flowed through the town. The shallow valley it formed still bends streets and shapes the slopes of the terrain.
University park
Just across the ring road, the green lawns of the Cité Internationale Universitaire form a wide open space. It frames the top of the composition.
