Grandview Map Poster & Print
Grandview sits on the southern edge of the Kansas City metropolitan area, in Jackson County, where the city's street pattern loosens into suburban neighbourhoods. On a map the most obvious feature is the highway corridor running north to south through town, with a mix of straight arterial roads and curving residential streets filling the land on either side.
The town is closely tied to Harry S. Truman, who spent much of his early adult life working the family farm here before entering politics. The farmhouse survives as part of the Harry S Truman National Historic Site, together with his home in nearby Independence, and it is the place most visitors come looking for.
A Grandview map poster shows a very American kind of order. Long straight roads mark out large squares, and inside them subdivisions of different decades add their own loops, cul-de-sacs and short grids. The contrast between the arterials and the looser patterns within them gives the print both structure and texture.

Section-line roads
Long straight arterials follow the old survey grid, dividing the city into large rectangles that act as a frame for everything else on the poster.
Suburban loops
Within those rectangles, residential streets curve, branch and end in cul-de-sacs, creating the soft, fingerprint-like patterns typical of postwar suburban development in the Midwest.

Zakaj Grandview
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Grandview is the kind of place people describe as home rather than as a destination, and a map of it means the most to those who grew up, bought a first house or raised a family here. Truman enthusiasts have their own reason to hang it.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a street name or a move-in date, and choose one of five styles. Order a printed poster on matte paper with an optional wooden frame, or download six sizes of HD files for $9.
