Old Town grid
The historic centre around Madison Avenue is a compact set of straight blocks. It is the densest texture on the map and the clearest reminder of Greenwood's origins as a small town.

Greenwood Map Poster & Print
Greenwood lies in Johnson County, just south of Indianapolis, on land that is almost completely flat. That flatness shows on the map. The main roads follow the surveyed square-mile grid of central Indiana, and most development fills the squares in between with looping residential streets, retail parcels and ponds.
The oldest part of town, known as Old Town Greenwood, is a short, straight grid around Madison Avenue. Interstate 65 runs diagonally along the eastern side of the city, and its interchanges have drawn commercial development. Between the old centre and the highway, the pattern changes from narrow lots to large parking areas and wide arterials.
As a Greenwood map poster, the city shows how a Midwestern farm grid turns into a suburb. The straight section-line roads are still there as a framework, and inside each square is a different subdivision with its own shape. Seen from above, the effect is regular in outline but full of small variations inside.

Interstate 65
The interstate cuts at an angle through the otherwise square layout of roads. It creates the only strong diagonal on the poster and clusters of development at its exits.
Section-line roads
Major roads run at regular mile intervals, dividing the city into squares. Each square is filled with its own subdivision of curved streets, cul-de-sacs and retention ponds.

Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Greenwood is a place people settle in for years, and a map of it often marks a first house, a family move or a return home. The mix of order and small detail works well in a frame.
You can set a custom title, subtitle and coordinates, for instance your street and the year you moved in, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
