Town grid
Straight streets and square blocks form the built-up core. Their regular geometry is clear in black and white and stands out sharply against the plains.

Guanarito Map Poster & Print
Guanarito is in Portuguesa state, in the western part of Venezuela's llanos, the vast plains that run towards the Orinoco. The landscape around it is flat and open, crossed by rivers that meander and change course over time. On the map, the town appears as a regular grid of streets set against this loose, watery country.
The Guanarito River, which gives the town its name, winds nearby. In the wet season, rivers across the llanos spill out over the low land, and old channels and oxbow shapes can be seen in the terrain. The name is also known in medicine: the Guanarito virus, which causes Venezuelan haemorrhagic fever, was first identified in this area.
A Guanarito map poster places the orderly grid of a plains town beside the natural curves of the river. The contrast between straight streets and winding water lines gives the print its character. Around the edges, the empty grassland leaves space for the composition to breathe.

Winding river
The Guanarito River loops across the lowland near the town. Its bends and side channels add flowing lines that balance the rigid street pattern.
Open llanos
Flat grassland and ranch country surround the town on all sides. The quiet expanse at the margins of the map conveys the scale of the plains.
