Coastline
The shore runs as a long, gently curving line across the map, the single element that shapes everything else in the town's layout.

Guayacanes Map Poster & Print
Guayacanes lies on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic, in San Pedro de Macorís province, east of Santo Domingo. The settlement follows the shoreline, with houses, small hotels and beach properties arranged along the coast road and short streets running down to the sea. From above it reads as a long, narrow band of development pressed between the Caribbean and the flat land inland.
Its beach, sheltered in places by reefs close offshore, has made it a destination for visitors from the capital, especially at weekends. The resort area of Juan Dolio lies along the same stretch of coast, and the highway linking Santo Domingo with the east of the country runs just inland, carrying traffic towards San Pedro de Macorís and La Romana.
A Guayacanes map poster emphasises the coastline above all. The edge of the land forms a strong, gently curving line across the composition, with streets thickest close to the water and thinning inland. The highway runs as a parallel stroke further back. The effect is simple and horizontal, fitting for a place whose life faces the sea.

Beach access streets
Short streets run down from the coast road to the sand at close intervals, forming a fine, comb-like pattern along the water.
Coastal highway
Just inland, the highway to the east runs parallel to the shore, a firm straight line framing the town's narrow strip of streets.
