Broad green belts of woods and fields separate the residential areas, so the town appears on the map as a cluster of distinct districts.

Haan Map Poster & Print
Haan lies in the Mettmann district of North Rhine-Westphalia, on the edge of the Bergisches Land between Düsseldorf, Solingen and Wuppertal. From above, it is not one continuous urban mass but a patchwork of compact residential areas separated by forests, fields and small stream valleys. Motorways and railway lines cross the map in strong diagonals and link it to its larger neighbours.
The town calls itself a Gartenstadt, or garden city, after the green space that surrounds and runs between its districts. The district of Gruiten, with its well-preserved historic village centre, lies in the Düssel valley near the Neander valley. Haan-Gruiten station is an important junction where lines from Düsseldorf, Cologne and Wuppertal meet.
A Haan map poster reflects this balance between settlement and landscape, with rail and road lines cutting through a softer pattern of streets and woods. It suits people who commute from here to the Rhineland cities, families who value the green setting, and anyone with ties to the Bergisches Land.

Gruiten junction
Railway lines from Düsseldorf, Cologne and Wuppertal converge at Haan-Gruiten, forming a striking intersection of curving tracks within the town's green surroundings.
Düssel valley
The small river Düssel winds through its valley near Gruiten, and its wooded course adds a soft, irregular line close to the old village centre.
