Hardoī Map Poster & Print
Hardoī is the headquarters of the district of the same name in central Uttar Pradesh, north-west of Lucknow, on the wide and almost perfectly flat plain of the Ganges basin. On a map the town forms a compact, irregular mass of streets. With no hills or coastline to shape it, the layout is defined by roads, the railway and farmland.
The railway line passes along the town, and much of the layout grows out from the station and the main roads leading to neighbouring district towns. Older neighbourhoods are packed with narrow lanes, while newer areas at the edges have slightly more regular blocks. A Hardoī map poster shows this gradual loosening from the centre out to the fields.
Local tradition links the town's name and history with the story of Prahlad and his father Hiranyakashipu, one of the best-known tales in Hindu tradition, and the town is sometimes connected with the origins of Holi. Around it, ponds, irrigation channels and small villages scattered across farmland give the edges of the map a fine, open texture.

Surrounding plain
Flat farmland extends in every direction, marked by field tracks, ponds and village clusters that fade gradually into the margins of the map.
