Percy Priest Lake
The reservoir's many inlets and coves border Hermitage to the south and east. They are drawn as irregular fingers of water and give the map its most striking outline.

Hermitage Map Poster & Print
Hermitage is a community in the eastern part of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, spread between the Cumberland River and J. Percy Priest Lake. On a map it is framed by water on several sides. Curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs fill the land between the larger arterial roads and the straight line of Interstate 40.
The community takes its name from The Hermitage, the plantation home of President Andrew Jackson, which lies near the river at the northern edge of the area. The estate is now a museum. Its fields and tree lines show up as open space among the subdivisions, a reminder that this ground is much older than the streets around it.
A Hermitage map poster shows the push and pull between water and suburb. The reservoir's arms reach into the land like fingers, the Cumberland loops slowly along the north, and the winding streets in between reflect a very American way of living close to the city and always near a shoreline.

Cumberland River
The river curves along the northern side of the community, a broad, smooth line on the map that contrasts with the jagged, branching edges of the lake.
The Hermitage estate
Andrew Jackson's former plantation, now a historic site, appears as open ground and tree cover among the surrounding neighbourhoods. It is one of the few large undeveloped spaces on the map.
