Highland Springs Map Poster & Print
Highland Springs is an unincorporated community in Henrico County, Virginia, just east of Richmond. Its map is defined by a clear, early suburban plan: long parallel avenues crossed by numbered or regular streets, forming rectangular blocks that feel ordered and deliberate. Around the edges, newer curving subdivisions and highway corridors show how the area grew outward over time.
The community developed around the turn of the twentieth century as a residential suburb connected to Richmond, and that origin still shows in the straightness of its core streets. To the south, the large open footprint of Richmond International Airport sits nearby, a contrast of runways and empty ground beside the dense residential pattern.
A Highland Springs map poster captures a place whose layout tells its history plainly. The planned grid in the middle, the looser growth around it and the major roads that tie it back to Richmond create a composition with a strong central rhythm. In monochrome the parallel lines read almost like a textile.

Airport nearby
Richmond International Airport lies close by, and its runways appear as bold straight strokes set in open space, a dramatic contrast to the tight residential streets.
Suburban edges
Beyond the original grid, curved streets and cul-de-sacs mark later neighbourhoods, showing clearly on the map where the planned core ends and newer growth begins.
