The island outline
The foot-like shape, with Atlantic beach along one side and a ragged marsh edge on the sounds, is one of the most recognisable coastal outlines in the Southeast.

Hilton Head Map Poster & Print
Hilton Head Island lies at the southern tip of South Carolina, between the Atlantic Ocean, Port Royal Sound and Calibogue Sound. On a map it has a shape many people compare to a shoe or a foot: a long, broad body with a heel pointing south-west. Broad Creek cuts deep into the island from the west and splits it almost in two.
The street pattern here is unusual. Beginning in the 1950s, much of the island was developed as planned communities, locally called plantations, of which Sea Pines was the first. Their roads loop and curve around lagoons, golf courses and forest instead of following a grid, while the Cross Island Parkway and William Hilton Parkway act as the main routes across the island.
A Hilton Head map poster shows all of this at once: the long, even beach on the ocean side, the marsh-cut western shore, and the winding drives of each community. Harbour Town, with its red-and-white striped lighthouse and the golf links where the RBC Heritage is played, sits at the south-western tip.

Winding plantation roads
Instead of a grid, the planned communities have looping streets and cul-de-sacs that wrap around lagoons and fairways and fill the print with soft curves.
Broad Creek
This tidal creek pushes far inland from Calibogue Sound and nearly cuts the island in two. On a monochrome map it reads as a dark, branching inlet.

Zakaj Hilton Head
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Hilton Head is where many families have spent the same week every summer for years, and where others have retired or bought a second home. A map of the island captures the bike paths, beach walks and marina evenings that people bring home from those stays.
Personalise the title, add a subtitle such as the name of your community or the year you first came, and adjust the coordinates. Choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, delivered as a $9 HD download or a framed print.
