Downtown grid
The historic centre follows a regular grid of streets with San Benito Street as a main axis. It is the densest area of the map and the heart of the town.

Hollister Map Poster & Print
Hollister is the county seat of San Benito County in California, set in a broad agricultural valley between low ranges of hills. The town has a compact downtown grid surrounded by residential neighbourhoods, and beyond them fields and orchards stretch across the valley floor. From above, the edges of the town meet farmland in a clear, straight-lined boundary.
Hollister lies directly on the Calaveras and San Andreas fault system, and the ground here moves slowly but steadily. In some older neighbourhoods, curbs, fences and walls have been visibly offset over the years by this fault creep. The town is also remembered for a 1947 motorcycle gathering that became a national story and inspired the film The Wild One.
A Hollister map poster shows a town that looks calm and orderly on the surface. The regular streets of downtown, the newer curving subdivisions at the edges and the grid of fields around them fill the print with contrasting patterns. The hills that frame the valley add a softer outline around the whole composition.

Fault-line town
The ground under Hollister creeps along active faults, slowly shifting curbs and walls in older streets. The map cannot show the movement, but it shows the grid that records it.
Valley farmland
Around the town, fields and orchards form a large patchwork of rectangular plots. They give the edges of the poster a calm, geometric rhythm.

Zakaj Hollister
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Hollister means different things to different people: a farming town, a family home, a place tied to motorcycle history. A map of the town holds all of those meanings without having to choose among them.
Personalise the title and subtitle, add a date or a street, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint fits the town's grid especially well.
