Homa Bay Map Poster & Print
Homa Bay is the capital of Homa Bay County in western Kenya, on the southern shore of the Winam Gulf, the long inlet of Lake Victoria. On a map, the lake sets the whole composition. The town spreads along an irregular coastline, with its streets running inland from the shore, and Homa Hill rises steeply to the east.
The town serves as a port and a market for fishing communities along the gulf, and boats link it with islands and other shore towns. To the southwest is Ruma National Park, one of the few places in Kenya where the rare roan antelope is found. The lake's shoreline gives the map its most varied lines.
A Homa Bay map poster sets the town against open water. The lake fills a large part of the frame, and the built-up area forms a loose band along its edge. Few inland towns in Kenya can offer such a strong contrast.

Homa Hill
A large, rounded hill stands just east of the town, and roads curve around its base instead of going over it.
Market and port roads
The main streets lead from the lakeshore toward the inland roads. They connect the landing areas with the markets and the routes to the rest of the county.
