Hückeswagen Map Poster & Print
Hückeswagen lies in the Bergisches Land of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the upper valley of the Wupper. From above, the town climbs a ridge above the river, with its castle at the top and the old streets gathered close below it. Around the centre the land folds into steep, wooded valleys, and the roads bend to follow them.
Water shapes much of the map. The Wupper runs through the valley floor, and reservoirs built in the surrounding hills spread out as irregular lakes with branching arms. The older houses in the region are known for their slate-clad walls and green shutters, a style closely tied to this part of Germany.
A Hückeswagen map poster shows a small, compact core set against long, fingered reservoirs and forest roads. In black and white the lakes become bold shapes with fine edges, which gives this modest town a surprisingly graphic look on paper.

Reservoir arms
Dammed valleys around the town form lakes with long, branching arms, their outlines following the old stream beds and adding strong organic shapes to the map.
Wupper valley
The river runs through a narrow valley along the edge of town, with roads and older buildings following its curves at the bottom of the slopes.
