Separate district cores
Hürth consists of several former villages, each with its own compact street pattern. Roads and green areas link and separate them.

Hürth Map Poster & Print
Hürth lies directly southwest of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia, on the slopes of the Ville, a low ridge between the Rhine plain and the Erft. The town is made up of several districts rather than one centre, and the map shows it clearly. Separate clusters of streets are connected by main roads and divided by woodland, lakes and industrial areas.
Lignite mining shaped the landscape for many decades, and many former open-cast pits have been turned into lakes and forest. The Knapsack chemical park is on the town's edge. In recent decades, Hürth has also become a major location for television production, with studios where many well-known German programmes are filmed.
A Hürth map poster reflects that unusual composition. District cores appear as dense patches of streets, recultivated lakes form clean shapes, and large industrial plots stand out as open geometry. It is a map that tells the story of changing land use, from mining to studios, while still showing the ordinary residential streets where people live.

Recultivated lakes
Former lignite pits on the Ville have become lakes and woodland. On the map, they appear as smooth, open forms beside the built areas.
Industrial edge
The Knapsack chemical park and other large sites occupy big blocks on the town's edge. They contrast sharply with the fine grain of the residential streets.

Zakaj Hürth
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
People hang a Hürth map because it is home, or because it was the place they commuted to for years. Its layout of districts, lakes and industry makes an unusually graphic print, especially in the Blueprint or Noir styles.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a district name, an address or a date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download HD files in six sizes for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
