Schafberg plateau
The raised ground beside the town was the centre of anthracite mining until 2018. On the map it forms a distinct area set apart from the surrounding residential streets.

Ibbenbueren Map Poster & Print
Ibbenbueren sits in the Tecklenburger Land in northern North Rhine-Westphalia, at the point where the Teutoburg Forest ends in the north-west. On a map, the town lies at the foot of wooded ridges. The centre is compact, and residential areas spread out over gentler ground. The forest shows up as a dark, irregular band south of the streets.
For generations, the town's identity was tied to coal. Anthracite was mined under the Schafberg, a raised plateau next to the town, until the mine closed at the end of 2018. That closure ended one of the last deep coal-mining operations in Germany. The plateau and its former industrial sites are still clearly visible on the map, set apart from the town's residential streets.
The surrounding landscape includes the Dörenther Klippen, a row of sandstone rocks along the ridge, and the small Aasee lake. An Ibbenbueren map poster captures the meeting of town and ridge. It shows streets gathered at the centre, the raised Schafberg to one side and woodland lines marking the edge of the hills.

Teutoburg ridge
The last ridges of the Teutoburg Forest rise near town. Their wooded slopes create a soft, dark edge along one side of the composition.
Aasee lake
A small lake near the town adds a smooth, rounded shape among the streets. It is one of the few open water surfaces in this part of the map.
