Mediterranean shore
The coastline runs along the northern edge of the map, a long, smooth line of beach that contrasts with the irregular margins of the lake behind the town.

Idkū Map Poster & Print
Idkū is a town in Beheira Governorate, on the northwestern edge of the Nile Delta east of Alexandria. Its map is shaped by water on two sides: the Mediterranean coast to the north, and Lake Idku, a shallow coastal lagoon, lying just inland. The town itself is built on the narrow band of land between them, with its main streets running roughly parallel to the shore.
Fishing has long been central to life here, both at sea and on the lake, and the lagoon's reed beds and channels form a delicate pattern on the map. Idkū is also the site of a large liquefied natural gas plant on the coast, whose broad industrial shapes stand out clearly against the fine, dense streets of the older town.
An Idkū map poster captures a place defined by the meeting of sea, lagoon and Delta farmland. The long coastline, the irregular edge of the lake and the compact town between them give the composition a strong horizontal structure. For families from the town now living in Alexandria, Cairo or abroad, it is a clear and lasting reminder of home.

Lake Idku
The lagoon lies close inland, its open water, reed beds and fishing channels forming soft, irregular shapes that fill much of the frame.
Town between waters
The older town is built tightly on the land between sea and lake, a fine pattern of narrow streets and close-set houses squeezed into a limited space.
