Hill-bound streets
Rather than a rigid grid, many streets follow the lie of the land, curving along slopes and valley floors so that the terrain can be read from the road pattern alone.

Igarapé Map Poster & Print
Igarapé sits in the hilly country southwest of Belo Horizonte, part of the wider metropolitan region of Minas Gerais. From above, the town does not follow a single plan. Streets climb and fold along the contours of the terrain, and newer neighbourhoods spread outward in loose clusters wherever the ground allows, leaving green gaps between them.
The name comes from Tupi, where an igarapé is a small waterway, the kind of channel a canoe might follow. On the map, that meaning finds an echo in the streams that thread between the hills and pull the street pattern along their valleys. A major road link toward São Paulo passes near the town, a firm, steady line against the softer local streets.
An Igarapé map poster reduces all of this to line and space: the denser core, the looser edges, and the ribbons of road that tie the town to the state capital. In black and white the topography becomes legible through the streets alone, and the finished print reads almost like a contour study of a place shaped by its hills.

Highway corridor
A major road toward São Paulo runs close to the town, drawing a long, steady line across the frame that contrasts with the irregular local streets around it.
Green intervals
Open ground between neighbourhoods appears as blank space on the poster, giving the composition room to breathe and showing how the town grew in separate pockets.

Zakaj Igarapé
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For people with roots in Igarapé, or who know the roads of the Belo Horizonte region, the map is a quiet way to keep the town close. It suits a hallway or a home office, where its irregular lines reward a second look rather than demanding attention.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be changed to mark a family name, a move or a date. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, then take the $9 HD files or order a printed poster, framed if you like.
