Valley-following streets
The main streets run along the lower ground and bend with it. The town has a long, curving outline instead of a compact block.

Jiaoshi Map Poster & Print
Jiaoshi lies in the hilly country of Chongqing, a municipality known for its folded, mountainous terrain. On a map, the town does not spread out evenly. Streets follow valley floors and hug the contours of the slopes, and buildings cluster where the ground allows. The result is an irregular, elongated shape that tells you almost immediately that this is a place built around the land.
Around the built-up area, the landscape breaks into terraces, small watercourses and winding rural roads that climb between villages. On a black-and-white poster, these appear as thin, looping lines that thicken toward the town itself. Main roads linking Jiaoshi to its larger neighbours pass through in longer curves, bending to follow the valleys rather than cutting straight across them.
A Jiaoshi map poster is less about landmarks and more about form: a settlement fitted carefully into steep ground. For people who grew up here, or whose families come from this part of Chongqing, that shape is familiar in a way no postcard captures. The map shows the route home, and it sits well on a wall far from the hills themselves.

Terraced hillsides
Surrounding slopes are crossed by small roads and field edges. They create a fine, looping texture that frames the denser centre.
Winding connecting roads
Roads to neighbouring towns curve around ridges rather than crossing them. Their long, graceful lines lead your eye across the sheet.
