Piranhas river
The river curves past the town and sets the direction of the whole plan. Its soft line contrasts with the straight streets beside it.

Jucurutu Map Poster & Print
Jucurutu lies in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte, in the semi-arid sertão of northeastern Brazil. The town grew beside the Piranhas river. From above, its streets form a compact, fairly regular grid near the riverbank. Beyond the last blocks, the landscape opens into caatinga scrub, dirt roads and irregular fields.
The river is the defining element of the map. In a dry region, its course and the greener land along it give the plan a clear direction, and the town's main roads follow or cross that line. The Piranhas-Açu system is one of the most important rivers in the state, and reservoirs along it support farming across the region.
A Jucurutu map poster keeps the composition simple: a small, orderly town, a winding river and the open country around them. It is a quiet image but a meaningful one. Life here has always depended on water arriving in a demanding climate and staying long enough to farm.

Town grid
The centre is laid out in regular blocks around a few main streets. The compact pattern is typical of small towns in the northeastern interior.
Caatinga surroundings
Outside town, scattered tracks and field boundaries cross dry scrubland. They leave large pale areas that frame the town clearly on the poster.
