Juma Shahri Map Poster & Print
Juma Shahri, often simply called Juma, lies west of Samarkand in the fertile valley of the Zarafshan River and is the centre of Pastdargom District. On the map the town itself is modest, but the land around it is anything but empty. A close weave of canals, farm tracks and field boundaries covers the plain in every direction.
That irrigated landscape defines the place. Water from the Zarafshan has been spread across this part of the valley for centuries, and from above it leaves a fine mesh of straight and gently curving lines. The town's streets sit inside that mesh, with a main road leading east toward Samarkand and residential quarters spreading out on either side.
A Juma Shahri map poster is about pattern rather than monuments. The drawing picks up the blocks of the residential quarters, the lanes of the mahallas and the web of channels beyond, so the print reads almost like a textile. For people with roots in the district, it is a quiet reminder of a very particular landscape.

Road to Samarkand
A main road leaves town toward the regional capital to the east, a strong line through the field pattern that ties Juma to the wider valley.
Mahalla quarters
The residential neighbourhoods are made up of walled courtyard plots along narrow lanes. From above they form small, dense blocks that contrast with the open fields.

Zakaj Juma Shahri
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Many families from the Samarkand region now live far from the valley, and a map is an understated way to keep home in view. Juma's pattern of canals and courtyards has a calm, almost geometric quality, and it suits a bedroom, a kitchen or a hallway.
