Field patchwork
Farm plots on the surrounding plain form a regular pattern of rectangles and strips. On paper they create a quiet, textile-like background around the settlement.

Kahrīzak Map Poster & Print
This Kahrīzak lies on the open plain southeast of Tehran, in an agricultural landscape that stretches toward the edge of the desert. From above, the map is dominated by straight lines: field boundaries, irrigation channels and roads laid out across level ground. The settlement forms a compact cluster within that geometric pattern, with lanes gathered closely around its centre.
The name comes from kahriz, a Persian word for qanat, the underground water channels that for centuries made farming possible on Iran's arid plains. Several places in Tehran Province share the name, so the coordinates matter. A Kahrīzak map poster of this location shows a quiet farming landscape rather than a city, where the arrangement of the fields tells the story of water.
In monochrome the plots become a patchwork of rectangles, and the roads cut through them in long, unbroken strokes. It is an austere, balanced image, very different from the dense streets of the capital a short distance away. The coordinates line on the poster lets anyone who knows this place identify it exactly.

Straight rural roads
Long, direct roads cross the flat terrain, connecting the settlement with neighbouring villages and towns. They give the map a clear, geometric framework.
A name rooted in water
Kahriz means qanat in Persian: an underground channel that carries water to fields. The name points to the role of irrigation in shaping this landscape.
