Kairāna Map Poster & Print
Kairāna lies in the Shamli district of western Uttar Pradesh, close to the Yamuna River, which marks the border with Haryana just to the west. The town sits on the flat, fertile Doab plain, and its map is centred on a dense historic core of narrow, winding lanes. Around it, the streets loosen into newer residential areas that fade into sugarcane and wheat fields.
The town has a special place in Indian music as the ancestral home of the Kirana gharana, one of the major schools of Hindustani classical singing. Musicians such as Abdul Karim Khan, who helped shape the tradition, trace their family roots here, and the gharana takes its name from the town. The style is known for its slow, careful unfolding of melody.
Beyond the town, the Yamuna flows in a wide, shifting channel, and canals and roads cut straight lines across the farmland. A Kairāna map poster captures that contrast between the tight old centre and the open agricultural plain, a small town whose name is carried far beyond its streets by the music that bears it.

Yamuna floodplain
West of the town, the river spreads across a wide floodplain of sandbanks and channels, forming a soft, irregular edge on the poster.
Canal-lined fields
Irrigation canals and farm roads cross the surrounding plain in long straight lines, dividing the land into a patchwork of plots.
