Passaic riverside grid
Along the Passaic, residential streets form a close, regular grid. This is the heart of Kearny, and on the map it forms the densest block of detail.

Kearny Map Poster & Print
Kearny sits in northern New Jersey between the Passaic River to the west and the Hackensack River to the east. On a map, the town divides into two very different halves: a dense residential grid on the higher ground along the Passaic, and a wide stretch of the Meadowlands to the east, crossed by highways, rail lines and industrial sites.
The town grew as a manufacturing centre in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, drawing many workers from Scotland and Northern Ireland to its thread and linoleum mills. That heritage, together with a strong local soccer tradition, earned Kearny the nickname Soccer Town USA.
A Kearny map poster makes the contrast between these halves easy to see. The tight streets on the western side, the rivers on both flanks and the marshland stretching toward the Hackensack give the composition structure and space. It suits locals and anyone who has watched the skyline from the Meadowlands.

Meadowlands marshes
East of the town centre, marshland spreads toward the Hackensack. On the poster, it appears as open space crossed by roads, rail lines and waterways.
Two river edges
The Passaic and the Hackensack bracket the town on either side. Their curves frame the map and show how Kearny sits on a narrow neck of land.
