Kingston upon Hull Map Poster & Print
Kingston upon Hull sits on the north bank of the Humber estuary, at the point where the narrow River Hull flows in from the north. That meeting of waters defines the map: a wide tidal edge along the south, a winding river splitting the city into east and west, and a series of docks carved into the shoreline during Hull's centuries as a port.
The Old Town occupies the tight wedge between the two rivers, its medieval street pattern still visible around High Street and the Minster. Some former docks have been filled in and turned into gardens, while another became the marina. The Deep aquarium stands at the confluence, and ferries still leave for Rotterdam. Hull was UK City of Culture in 2017.
A Kingston upon Hull map poster captures the contrast between the broad estuary and the dense terraces behind it. Long radial roads toward Beverley and Holderness fan out from the centre, and Victorian streets fill the gaps between them. Printed in black and white, the waterfront reads as a strong horizontal base for the whole design.

Dock basins
Rectangular basins and quays line the waterfront, some now a marina and others filled in as gardens, their straight edges contrasting with the soft estuary shore.
Radial main roads
Major routes fan out from the centre toward Beverley, Holderness and the west, stitching together dense Victorian terraces in a pattern that is easy to read from above.
