Compact settlement core
The town's lanes and house plots form a tight cluster with little open space. On the poster this becomes the focal point, surrounded by much sparser detail.

Kottaikādu Map Poster & Print
Kottaikādu is a town in northern Tamil Nadu, on the low coastal plain that runs along the Bay of Bengal between Chennai and Puducherry. The land here is flat and cultivated. From above, a compact settlement of lanes and house plots sits among fields, clumps of palms and the irrigation tanks that have watered this part of the Coromandel coast for centuries.
The town's name joins two Tamil words, one meaning fort and the other forest or wild land, a combination found in many place names across the region. The streets form a close-knit pattern typical of Tamil villages that grew into towns, with a few main roads carrying traffic toward neighbouring settlements and the coast.
A Kottaikādu map poster shows the town as a small, dense cluster in a wide landscape. Its lanes make a fine web, the roads reach out toward the surrounding villages, and the shapes of tanks and open land fill the rest of the frame. It is a modest, faithful portrait of a place most printed maps overlook.

Irrigation tanks
The surrounding plain has man-made reservoirs, known locally as eris, that collect monsoon rain. Where they appear on the map, they add soft, rounded water shapes to the composition.
Roads across the plain
A few main roads connect the town with nearby villages and the coastal highway. They cross the flat farmland in long, simple lines that give the poster its structure.
