Krasnovishersk Map Poster & Print
Krasnovishersk stands on the Vishera River in the north of Perm Krai, where the lowlands begin to rise toward the Northern Urals. On a map the town follows the riverbank as a long, narrow settlement, with streets running parallel to the water and a wide belt of taiga beyond. The broad, curving Vishera is the dominant line in any composition of the town.
The town grew around a pulp and paper mill built around 1930 by prisoners of Vishlag, one of the early Soviet labour camps. The writer Varlam Shalamov was held there and later described that period in his prose. Today Krasnovishersk is also known as the gateway to the Vishera Nature Reserve, which protects a large area of mountain taiga upstream.
A Krasnovishersk map poster keeps the focus on geography: the river, the long town on its bank and the forest stretching outward. In black and white the result is spare and northern. The print has plenty of open space, a single strong curve that carries the whole design and a sense of distance that suits the place.

Linear riverside town
Streets run parallel to the riverbank, so the town reads as a long band rather than a round core, a shape typical of northern river settlements.
Taiga beyond
Around the town the map opens into empty forest, with only a few roads reaching out. This emptiness frames the settlement and shows how remote it is.
