Section-line grid
Roads run north–south and east–west at one-mile intervals, a pattern set by the public land survey. On the poster they form a strong frame of squares around the town.

Kuna Map Poster & Print
Kuna lies in Ada County, southwest of Boise and south of Meridian, on the high sagebrush plain above the Snake River. From above, the landscape is organised by the American section grid: long straight roads a mile apart, enclosing farms and, more and more, new subdivisions. The older town centre sits on this grid, crossed diagonally by Indian Creek and the railway.
Kuna has grown quickly as the Boise area has expanded, and new neighbourhoods of curving streets and cul-de-sacs now fill many squares of the grid. To the south lies the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area, a wide stretch of canyon and desert known for its nesting raptors. The contrast between the suburban edges and open land is striking on a map.
A Kuna map poster shows that tension clearly: the straight section roads, the loops of new housing and the creek cutting through at an angle. Rendered in monochrome, the empty land to the south frames the town. It is a precise picture of a western community in the middle of change.

Indian Creek
The creek flows diagonally through town, one of the few lines that ignore the grid. It gives the map a natural curve among the straight roads.
New subdivisions
Curving streets and cul-de-sacs fill parts of the grid. From above they look like small intricate patterns set inside the larger squares.
