Om River loops
The river meanders in wide loops past the town, with oxbows and side channels. Its curves form the strongest natural shape on the poster.

Kuybyshev Map Poster & Print
Kuybyshev is a town in Novosibirsk Oblast, in the Baraba Steppe of western Siberia. It sits on the Om River, which loops across a very flat landscape of meadows, marshes and small lakes. From above, the town has a regular grid of streets on the river's bank, with the Om curving around it and farmland and wetlands spreading in every direction.
The town began in 1722 as a fortified post called Kainsk, on the route across Siberia. It kept that name for more than two centuries before being renamed Kuybyshev in 1935. Its layout is typical of Siberian settlements that grew from such posts: straight streets of low houses, larger blocks near the centre, and the river as the defining edge.
A Kuybyshev map poster is a study in flat land and water. The grid is calm and even, the Om makes wide, sweeping bends, and the outlines of lakes and wetlands break the space around the town. In black and white, the contrast between the straight streets and the meandering river is especially clear.

Regular grid
The town's streets run in straight, evenly spaced lines. The plan is typical of Siberian towns that grew from early posts, and it reads cleanly at any print size.
Steppe lakes
Small lakes and marshy areas dot the flat land around town. They appear on the map as scattered, soft-edged shapes among the fields.

Zakaj Kuybyshev
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Kuybyshev is the kind of Siberian town people carry with them long after moving to larger cities: wide streets, a slow river, long winters. A map of its grid and the Om keeps that picture exact.
The title can read Kuybyshev, Kainsk or anything in Cyrillic. Add your own subtitle and coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The free 900 px watermarked preview lets you check the result first.
