The tracks cut straight across the village from east to west, with the station and downtown pressed close against them, the organising line of the whole map.

La Grange Map Poster & Print
La Grange lies west of downtown Chicago in Cook County, one of the suburbs that grew up along the railroad in the late nineteenth century. Its map is a near-perfect grid of residential streets, broken by the straight east–west line of the railway and by a handful of parks. The downtown sits right beside the station, as it has from the beginning.
Metra commuter trains still stop in the village, and the business district along La Grange Road clusters around the tracks. The residential streets hold a notable collection of Victorian and early twentieth century houses, including several early works by Frank Lloyd Wright, and much of the village falls within historic districts. The result on paper is dense, even and quietly regular.
A La Grange map poster suits people who like order: blocks of equal size, straight avenues and one bold line of rail. Blueprint emphasises that engineered quality, while Paper gives it the feel of an old plat map. Framing the village with a margin of neighbouring suburbs helps show where its grid begins and ends.

La Grange Road
The main north–south road runs through the business district, crossing the tracks at the centre and dividing the residential grid into eastern and western halves.
Historic districts
Large areas of the village are historic districts, and their evenly sized lots and uninterrupted street grid give the map a particularly calm, regular texture.

Zakaj La Grange
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
La Grange is the kind of place people settle into for years: a first house, a walk to school, a train into the city every morning. A map of its grid is personal without being sentimental, and it looks at home in a hallway or a study.
