Lagoa Vermelha Map Poster & Print
Lagoa Vermelha, whose name means red lagoon, is a town on the plateau of northern Rio Grande do Sul, in the south of Brazil. The land here is high and gently rolling, with farmland and grassland stretching between scattered patches of woodland, and the climate is noticeably cooler than in much of the country. The town serves as a centre for the surrounding farming district.
On the map, the town has a fairly compact form. The central area is made of regular blocks, and towards the edges the streets follow the gentle rise and fall of the land. Highways pass through or around it, linking it to other towns on the plateau. Beyond the last houses, the pattern gives way to long country roads and field boundaries.
A Lagoa Vermelha map poster keeps the drawing clean: the town's streets in fine black lines, the highways as stronger strokes, and the countryside as open space. The effect is calm and balanced. It suits a highland farming town, where the landscape around the streets matters as much as the streets themselves.
