Microdistrict layout
Housing is grouped into large blocks with open courtyards inside. This planning pattern makes the town centre look like a set of neat, repeated cells on paper.

Langepas Map Poster & Print
Langepas was built from the early 1980s to serve the oil fields of the Middle Ob region in Khanty-Mansia. Its plan follows the logic of a Soviet new town. Residential microdistricts are laid out as large blocks, each with its own courtyards and schools, and wide avenues join them together. Past the last buildings, the map turns almost at once into forest, wetland and water.
The name is usually translated from the Khanty language as land of squirrels, a reminder that people hunted and fished here long before drilling began. Langepas also gave LUKoil its first letter, since the company name combines Langepas, Urai and Kogalym. A Langepas map poster records the point where the grid of a young industrial town meets the irregular shapes of the taiga.
Seen from above, the surroundings matter as much as the town itself. Small lakes and old river loops mark the wider Ob floodplain, and service roads and cleared corridors cut long straight lines through the woods toward the well pads. The result is a map made mostly of nature, with a dense, orderly core at its centre.

Lakes and oxbows
Small lakes, bogs and old river loops surround the town on all sides, turning the edges of the poster into a scatter of soft, irregular shapes.
Service roads
Straight roads and cleared corridors run from town into the forest toward the oil fields, drawing long ruled lines across an otherwise untouched landscape.

Zakaj Langepas
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For many families, Langepas was the first address after moving north for work, and a map of its streets holds years of shifts, school runs and long winters. The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be changed, so you can mark the year you arrived or the block you lived in.
Choose Classic black & white for the clearest view of the streets, Blueprint for an engineering feel, or Noir, Paper or Sand for a softer look in the room. Digital files come in six sizes, each as a PNG and a PDF. A free watermarked preview lets you check the framing before you buy.
