Irrigation channels
Straight canals and ditches carry mountain water across the oasis. The fields and tree lines that follow them create a strong linear pattern.

Langru Map Poster & Print
Langru lies in the Hotan area of southern Xinjiang, on the band of land between the Kunlun Mountains and the Taklamakan Desert. On the map it is a classic oasis settlement. A network of roads, irrigation channels and strips of fields stands out sharply against the empty terrain around it. Beyond the green edge, the drawing simply falls silent.
Life in this part of Xinjiang depends on meltwater from the mountains to the south. Rivers and canals carry it across the gravel slopes at the foot of the range. The landscape this creates has its own geometry. Long, straight channels are lined with rows of trees and narrow fields, and homes sit along the roads that follow the water.
A Langru map poster shows this delicate balance between farmland and desert clearly. The lines are dense and fine where the water reaches, and the paper stays blank where it does not. It suits people with ties to the Hotan region, travellers who have crossed the southern Tarim Basin, and anyone drawn to the way water shapes where people live.

Oasis edge
The boundary between farmland and bare ground is sharp and irregular. This line defines the entire shape of the settlement from above.
Mountain approach
To the south, the land rises toward the Kunlun range. Valleys and dry riverbeds run down from the mountains toward the oasis.

Zakaj Langru
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Oasis towns are among the most striking places to see from above, because every line on the map depends on water. A poster of Langru makes that relationship visible and gives a remote place the attention it deserves.
Edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line to add a name or a date, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint and Sand suit the desert setting especially well. The HD files cost $9 and have no watermark.
