Contour-following roads
Streets curve with the slopes instead of running straight, so the road network itself reveals the hilly terrain on which the town is built.

Lihe Map Poster & Print
Lihe is a town in the northeastern part of Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country of the upper Yangtze region. The terrain here is steep and folded, and it shapes almost everything visible on a map. Streets bend with the slopes, buildings gather where the ground levels out, and valleys carry both water and roads.
From above, the settlement looks compact and irregular. Rather than a grid, you see short streets stepping around the hillsides, with longer roads following valley floors toward neighbouring towns. Terraced fields and wooded slopes surround the built area. They leave wide open space around a tight core that has grown within the limits of the land.
A Lihe map poster turns that mountain geography into a spare line drawing. The roads trace the relief, so the print shows the shape of the hills even without contour lines. It is a quiet, detailed portrait of a small town in one of China's most rugged municipal regions, where the landscape sets the pattern of daily life.

Valley corridors
Longer routes follow the valley floors between ridges, linking Lihe to the surrounding towns and giving the map a few strong directional lines.
Compact core
Buildings concentrate on the limited flatter ground, forming a dense cluster set within wide areas of fields and wooded hillside.
