Town green
A long, narrow common runs through the historic centre. Houses and churches line it, and it clearly marks the town's colonial core on the map.

Longmeadow Map Poster & Print
Longmeadow lies just south of Springfield on the east bank of the Connecticut River. On a map, the town has a clear structure. A broad, low floodplain runs along the river, and Interstate 91 follows the water. The town rises on higher ground to the east, with Longmeadow Street running north to south through its historic centre.
The town green is at the heart of Longmeadow's historic district. It is a long, narrow common lined by colonial-era houses and churches. East of this old spine, streets form a pattern of curving roads and cul-de-sacs typical of twentieth-century American suburbs. They are broken up by parks, golf courses and wooded areas.
A Longmeadow map poster shows how the town has grown in layers, from the river meadows that gave it its name to the colonial green and the leafy suburbs beyond. The result is a quiet, balanced composition. The river's edge holds one side, and the curving residential streets fill the other.

Connecticut River meadows
Low, open land stretches along the river on the western edge. Interstate 91 cuts through it, and the flat ground gave the town its name.
Suburban curves
East of the green, winding roads and cul-de-sacs form a softer, looping pattern. Parks and green spaces spread across the residential districts.
