Zemljevid
Luhansk Map Poster & Print
Luhansk lies in the rolling steppe of the Donbas, at the confluence of the Luhanka and Vilkhivka rivers, with the larger Siverskyi Donets flowing to the north. On a map the city appears as a broad spread of districts divided by river valleys and ravines, with a regular grid of streets in the centre and long radial roads running out across the low ridges.
The city was founded in 1795 around an iron foundry, and heavy industry, especially locomotive building, shaped its growth through the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Since 2014 Luhansk has been under Russian occupation, and many of its former residents now live elsewhere in Ukraine or abroad, keeping the city present in memory and in family history.
A Luhansk map poster shows the city in its full outline: the curving river valleys, the dense central grid, the industrial districts and the housing estates on the higher ground. Rendered in simple black and white, it gives a clear, neutral image of a city whose streets many people know by heart but may not have walked for years.

Steppe ridges
Around the centre, housing districts and industrial zones spread across low ridges and ravines, with roads following the land in long, gently curving lines.

Zakaj Luhansk
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For many people displaced from Luhansk, a map of the city is a way to keep home close: the street they lived on, the school, the river valley. It is a calm, factual image that can hold a great deal of meaning without saying anything more than the place itself.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are fully editable, so you can add a family name, an address or a date. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as a $9 digital download or a printed poster from print partners in more than 30 countries.
