River through town
A river winds past the town centre toward Laguna de Bay. Its meandering line is the most expressive element on the map and ties the settlement to the lake.

Lumbang Map Poster & Print
Lumbang sits in the eastern part of Laguna province, in the Calabarzon region south of Manila. The land slopes from the Sierra Madre foothills down to the shore of Laguna de Bay, the country's largest lake. On a map, the town centre is a small cluster of streets near the river, with barangays strung out along roads that follow the water and the lower slopes.
The town has a long association with hand embroidery. Its workshops are linked with the fine needlework used on traditional Filipino formal wear. That craft does not appear on a map, but the setting does: river bends, low-lying fields and fishponds toward the lake, and higher, greener ground inland, where roads climb toward the uplands.
A Lumbang map poster suits people from the town and those who know this lakeside corner of Laguna from visits to the rivers, falls and uplands nearby. Printed in black and white, the curves of the river and the shoreline stand out against the modest street grid.

Lakeshore lowland
Toward the lake, fields, fishponds and wet ground form an irregular pattern of small parcels. It gives the lower edge of the poster a softer texture.
Rising uplands
Inland, the terrain climbs toward the Sierra Madre foothills. Roads bend and thin out there, leaving wide green spaces between scattered settlements.
