The river confluence
The Sha and Li rivers join close to the centre of the city. They form a clear Y shape that anchors the composition and splits the older districts from the newer ones.

Luohe Map Poster & Print
Luohe grew up where the Sha River and the Li River meet, and that junction sets the whole plan. From above, the two waterways close together into one broad channel that runs east. The built-up districts sit on the land between and around them. On a map the rivers read as the city's spine, a pale ribbon among the finer lines of streets on either bank.
Past the riverbanks the ground is almost perfectly flat, part of the wide plain of central Henan. With no hills in the way, the newer districts are laid out as a regular grid of long avenues and large blocks. Railway lines and expressways cut straight through at an angle. Luohe has long been a transport junction, and the rail corridor shows up as a firm, unbroken stroke across the sheet.
Luohe is known across China as a food-processing centre, home to some of the country's largest meat and packaged-food producers. It also has ties to Xu Shen, the Han-dynasty scholar who compiled the Shuowen Jiezi, one of the earliest Chinese character dictionaries. A Luohe map poster leaves out the factories and history and keeps what the ground plan shows: rivers, rail and a steady grid.

Plain-country grid
Because the land is so level, the streets run in long, straight lines with little bending. The result is an even lattice that prints crisply in black and white.
Rail corridor
Luohe sits on a major north–south railway, and the tracks and yards cut a long diagonal through the urban fabric. The line is one of the plan's strongest graphic features.

Zakaj Luohe
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Luohe is often a hometown more than a destination, which is why its map means something to the people who come from there. The meeting of the rivers is easy to recognise at a glance. It works as a quiet reminder of home on a wall far from Henan.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a year. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital HD files cost $9, and printed posters ship from partners in over 30 countries.
