Lakes and channels
Around the town, lakes and winding waterways cut through the lowland forest. They form the most striking shapes on the map, irregular and branching.

Manaquiri Map Poster & Print
Manaquiri sits in the Amazon lowlands south of the Solimões, not far from Manaus as the crow flies but in a completely different landscape. On a map the town is a small cluster of streets surrounded mainly by water: lakes, winding channels and seasonally flooded forest. Water, more than roads, is what connects this place to the rest of the region.
The town’s shape depends on the river’s annual rhythm. When the water rises, lakes and channels expand into the forest, and when it falls, beaches and mudbanks appear. The streets sit on higher ground above the flood line, in a modest grid that ends where the land drops towards the water. Beyond it the map is almost entirely lakes and green.
A Manaquiri map poster captures that balance between a small built area and a very large natural one. The few streets are clear and legible, while the lakes and channels fill the rest of the frame with irregular, flowing shapes. It shows how people live in the Amazon: in close quarters, on dry ground, with the river always nearby.
