Mar del Plata Map Poster & Print
Mar del Plata spreads along the Atlantic coast south of Buenos Aires, and its map is a dialogue between a regular grid and an irregular shore. Blocks run inland in tidy rows, while the coastline curves from bay to bay and out to rocky points such as Cabo Corrientes. The port, with its breakwaters, closes off the southern part of the central shore.
The city grew in the late nineteenth century as a seaside retreat for Buenos Aires families and later became Argentina's most popular beach destination, widely called La Feliz. Its waterfront is anchored by the Casino and Hotel Provincial, designed by Alejandro Bustillo in the 1930s. The Mar del Plata International Film Festival has been held here since 1954.
A Mar del Plata map poster brings out both sides of the city: the dense grid of the centre and the long line of beaches that gives it its character. Diagonal avenues cut across the blocks, while the port adds sharp geometry to the south. The wide Atlantic on one side of the frame gives the print a strong, open edge.

Port breakwaters
Long breakwaters and basins south of the centre form sharp geometric shapes against the open sea, home to the fishing fleet and a sea lion colony.
Grid and diagonals
A regular grid covers the inland city, crossed by diagonal avenues that create triangular blocks and small plazas where they meet.

Zakaj Mar del Plata
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
For generations of Argentines, Mar del Plata means summer holidays, family trips and the walk along the waterfront. A map of the city holds those summers in a calm, graphic form, useful for anyone who grew up with the coast.
Personalise the title with the city or a beach name, the subtitle with a year, and the coordinates with the spot where you stayed. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand works especially well for a beach town.
