Maraú Map Poster & Print
Maraú is the seat of a municipality on the southern coast of Bahia, on the sheltered waters of Camamu Bay. The town itself is small, a handful of streets beside the water, but the map around it is extraordinary. Estuaries, mangrove channels and islands form an intricate lacework, and the narrow Maraú Peninsula runs north between the bay and the open Atlantic.
The peninsula is known across Brazil for its beaches, from Barra Grande near its tip to the natural reef pools at Taipu de Fora, most of them reached by boat or on unpaved roads. On a Maraú map poster the coastline does most of the work, with its long ocean edge contrasting against the ragged, branching shoreline on the bay side.
There are few roads and water everywhere, so the composition is unusually open. Fine lines trace tracks through coconut groves and coastal scrub, while the channels of the bay break the land into irregular fragments. In black and white it reads almost like a botanical drawing, a portrait of a place shaped as much by the tides as by its streets.

Maraú Peninsula
A long, narrow strip of land runs between the bay and the Atlantic, and its straight ocean beach forms one of the cleanest and most striking lines on the poster.
Mangrove channels
Estuaries and tidal creeks branch through the mangroves around the town, creating a fine, tree-like pattern of water that fills the frame with natural detail.

Zakaj Maraú
Zemljevid, ki nekaj pomeni
Many people know Maraú from a holiday on the peninsula, a stay in Barra Grande or a boat trip across the bay. A map poster keeps that coastline in view long after the trip, and its open composition suits calm rooms, bedrooms and beach houses alike.
Title the print with the name of a pousada, a beach or simply Maraú, add the dates of your stay, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint and Sand suit the watery layout especially well.
