Mauriti Map Poster & Print
Mauriti lies in the south of Ceará, in Brazil's semi-arid northeast, close to the state border with Paraíba. It is a municipality of farming communities spread across the sertão, with the urban seat as its main centre of trade, schooling and services. The landscape around it is dry for much of the year, and water storage shapes the pattern of the land.
From above, the town forms a fairly regular grid of streets around its central square and church, in the manner of many towns in the interior of the northeast. Roads leave in a few directions towards neighbouring municipalities. Beyond the edge of town, small reservoirs, dirt tracks and field boundaries break up the open country.
A Mauriti map poster keeps the design simple: the tight urban grid in the middle, with rural roads and water bodies around it. It is a modest place on the national scale, but the layout shows clearly how a sertão town is organised around a square, a church and a handful of roads that link it to the wider region.

Grid of blocks
The urban area follows a mostly regular grid of rectangular blocks, which gives the centre of the map an even, orderly texture.
Sertão surroundings
Around the town, rural tracks and small reservoirs cross the dry landscape, marking how water is kept and moved in a semi-arid region.
